Gerry Simpson, the Branch Manager of AXA Insurance in Naas, presented Lorraine Rowan from Teach Tearmainn with a cheque amounting to €2,500 for being the AXA Local Community Award winners.
The AXA Community Awards are designed to support community groups that are making a positive impact, with each of their 24 branches awarding €2,500 to a local organization that can show its contributions to the community.
Through this AXA Community Award, we recognize how Teach Tearmainn is playing a vital role in fostering a safer and more resilient environment for their community.
Teach Tearmainn, which translates to House of Refuge, is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to assisting women and children who face domestic violence and abuse. Established in 1999, it continues to provide essential services.
In addition to their purpose-built refuge, Teach Tearmainn operates a dedicated Outreach Centre located in Naas.
